Air Quality

Youth Activities and Air Quality in our Schools

Checking Current & Forecast Air Quality
During an event where outdoor air quality may be unhealthy, we use Air Quality Index (AQI) data from AirNow.gov.

During wildfire season, we may also reference the Washington Smoke Bog - a partnership between state, county, and federal agencies, and Tribes to collectively share info for Washington communities affected by wildfire smoke.
Washington Children and Youth Activities Guide for Air Quality
The following public health recommendations are to protect children and youth (18 years and younger) from fine particle air pollution (PM2.5). Apply this guide to school, child care, athletic practices & games, before & after school programs, camps, field trips, and other outdoor programming activities.
